UntitledTown is a free, community-driven book and author festival that transforms downtown Green Bay into a vibrant, intellectual hub. Produced by The Art Garage (Cedar Center Arts), our festival celebrates the power of the written word by bringing together readers, writers, and thinkers for an immersive experience that is open and accessible to all.

UntitledTown is more than a festival—it is a community movement. By keeping our events free and fully accessible, we remove barriers to education and literary engagement, ensuring that stories remain a shared human experience. Our festival has become a vital economic engine for the region, driving foot traffic to local hotels, restaurants, and shops, and cementing Green Bay’s reputation as a relevant, exciting place to live and visit.
How we got here
UntitledTown Book and Author Festival was founded in November 2016 in the mission of providing a free community-focused celebration of literature and stories. The first three festivals hosted an average of 3500 attendees and an average of 125 presenters. In 2020, the festival was cancelled due to lockdown. It was adopted by The Friends of the Brown County Library from 2021-2024. The Art Garage became UntitledTown Headquarters in 2025.
It’s time to restore UntitledTown to its former gradeur and give the poets, readers, authors and storytellers of Northeastern Wisconsin their place to belong.

Cedar Center Arts exists to support and elevate artists, makers, writers and creatives of all ages, backgrounds and disciplines by providing accessible space, resources, and opportunities to create, teach, and share their work. We connect individuals with the larger community through inclusive programming, exhibitions, and education that welcome people of all ages and experiences levels. By making art affordable, visible, and joyful, we affirm that creativity belongs to everyone and strengthens our community.
Lifelong Citizenship
Cedar Center Arts, founded in 2006, serves as the primary steward of the UntitledTown revival. The organization’s history is deeply rooted in the local community, having transformed a century-old former cannery factory into a vibrant creative hub called The Art Garage. Our president Wendy Wimmer Schuchart and former board member Alex Galt are the original co-founders of UntitledTown in 2016. Cedar Center Arts brought on Wimmer Schuchart, an award-winning author, to invigorate its mission of serving the literary arts.

Rebecca Nesvet
Rebecca Nesvet teaches at the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay. She is the author of the first book about “Sweeney Todd’s” Victorian creator: James Malcolm Rymer, Penny Fiction, and the Family (London: Routledge, 2024). She has also written chapters of popular history books on Victorian subjects for Pen and Sword Books (Barnsley, Yorkshire).
