We are beyond thrilled to announce that acclaimed, award-winning poet and extraordinary spoken word artist Danez Smith is coming back to Green Bay! You may remember Danez’s incredible performance in 2018 and we are delighted that they have accepted our invitation to return to the area.

On Friday, September 25, 2026, Smith—whose breathtaking work has earned accolades like the Forward Prize and finalist status for the Pulitzer Prize—will be teaching an exclusive, in-person generative creative writing workshop directly with local youth at The Art Garage.
